Now we all know how offices can sometimes be, a war zone.   It’s not that anymore is trying to make it that way but different attitudes sometimes cause small events to turn the office into a cold war.  There is nothing you can really do to change it.   Besides get the H.R. department involved and then get out of the way.

Tempers will cool and the events that caused the problem will fade away.   People need to let their emotions subside when they are at work.   Sometimes things need to happen that will look like they may be against you but they are the good of the companies and not against you.   Ok, this is the end of my personal office PSA!  heh

With the world getting as Tech savvy as it is, your office should start transforming because of it.   Today, people are running systems with dual screens and their multi-tasking skills are beyond anything we have seen before.  Don’t let your office fall behind your competitors because you are stuck in old ways.

I am not saying you need to have a huge revamp of your computer systems but you will need invest in the technology as it comes out and train your employees accordingly.  No longer can we have employees who only hunt and peck on the keyboard.

This is an example of some furniture that company’s are starting to add to their office to help with raise office unity and just give it a sense of fun.  Management of most companies are trying to break from the monotony that has been the workplace for decades.

I like this change in style and I do believe it is helpful.   Google has really been leading this trend by making it’s employees really enjoy coming to work.   If you want our employees to produce more, make it so are happy to be there.

I know that often, business feel that they can’t move anywhere because they are just not making enough to make a responsible move.  In today’s market, that is not the same as before.  Because of our shift from manufacturing and outsourcing jobs, there are offices and warehouse who will bend over backwards to get new renters into their vacancies.

So talk to a commercial real estate agent or even just look on craigslist today, the sweet deals are out for your office.   Imagine how much you could build your company if you actually had the space to try new things or higher new people.

Though I am not recommending anyone to do their post it notes, you love these adhesive attached reminders.   I would be completely lost on my daily chores if I didn’t have them, and I have all the digital task organizers that a professional could want.

I have these notes classified by color mattering how urgent the task is.  I know I should get up with technology but it is never as handy or at your fingertips as these glorious colored mini paper.   Yes, this is pretty much me declaring my love to Post it Notes

If you just have the thoughts in your head to make it through the workday, you may go crazy.   Cubicles will seem to be your own personal prison cells unless you have a way to express yourself.   The way I have found to make it through the workday is listening to music or audio books.

Whether you have to listen to them on headphones or if you can put up some little speakers, this will relieve some of the pressure that you may be feeling from your chosen career path.   The only thing you have to worry about is if you enjoyment of your music will interfere with the work of your co-workers, be sure to be aware of that.

When I saw this picture, I was instantly in love!   Though I know it is not realistically that most offices will never have a fish tank like this, it is nice to dream.   This company figured that giving their workers something to look at would increase morale,  I fully agree with this.

Now, we know that your probably will not invest the money for the kind of fish tank but it should have it in the budget for a nice centerpiece fish tank.   It will be pleasant for both employees and clients.   Bring life into your work place and you will bring back some life to your work.

I know that it doesn’t seem like that big of a deal, but having plants in the office really does brighten up the office.   Having a little bit of life does break the monotony of the office machine.

Give it a shot, try bring a plant into the office or if you are the office manager, buy a few plants to place strategically around the office and watch as the office doesn’t seem so formidable.
